Lie Buster

By Jo Lee

Voices, voices always in your head telling you ‘you’re not’,  ‘you can’t’, ‘what will others think?’, ‘too fat, too thin, not beautiful, I’m not valuable, they are better than me... I could go on all day! (I really could!)

But let me tell you, these voices are lies, sent to destroy, pull down, disarm, discourage, bring shame and stop you stepping into everything God has for you.

1 Peter 5 v 8

Be alert and if sober mind.  Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

We find ourselves in defeat when we listen and believe lies that come at us.

Question. Do you want to be an overcomer? One that pursues truth and believes it? Do you want to believe the word of God over your life? Walk in freedom?

If you do, then we pray!

Pray

  1. You would recognise the lies the moment you hear them (this is actually MASSIVE because if you can recognise the lies, then you have the knowledge and ability to deal with them head on!)

  2. You repent of believing this lie, and not believing the truth from God.

  3. You declare what your truth would be (examples below), and quote scripture. This is so powerful!

  4. Laugh out loud (I’m mean it!) at the ridiculous lie that was sent to pull you down!

Some examples from turning lies into truth:

Lie: God can never use me, others are a better choice

Truth: I am called for purpose, he has a plan for my life

Scripture: Jeremiah 29 v 11

Lie: I’m worthless

Truth: I am valuable, loved and cherished, so much that Jesus died for me.

Scripture: John 3 v 16

Lie: I’m not beautiful, he made a mistake with me

Truth: I am no mistake, I am beautiful, designed, thought about and created. I am His handiwork.

Scripture: Psalm 139 v 13-14

Lie: I’m too fearful

Truth: I am courageous, God is here with me, courage is my mandate.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 1 v 7

Lie: I can’t do that

Truth: I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, I am courageous because Christ lives in me.

Scripture: Romans 8 v 28

Next steps:

  1. Spend time with Father, the God of truth and he would reveal himself to you, write down in your journal what he says to you.

  2. Write declarations of truth on your mirror and daily say them out loud!

  3. Worship your socks off!

  4. Thank Him for making you a woman with purpose and life!

Girls, truth brings freedom, life, vision, courage, perspective, hope, joy and peace.

Have fun laughing at those lies and start walking out in truth!
